Get ready for Mundialito II!
Play 4 Development (P4D), an initiative of Young Connection, is organizing Mundialito II! Last year more than 120 people from the DC-VA-MD area gathered to play in this tournament. (Check out the video of the tournament below.) Funds were raised to build a soccer pitch in the community of Juil, Guatemala, providing 500 children with a safe place to play.
P4D will partner once again with love.futbol, an organization that helped build eight community-driven soccer fields in Guatemala, which serve 5,500 children. The organization hopes to expand its work to Honduras and Brazil by 2014.
This year’s Mundialito will be a ONE DAY 5v5 recreational soccer tournament held in Washington, DC on Saturday, August 13, 2011. Proceeds from the team registration will be used to build a soccer facility for another community in Guatemala. Other donations in addition to the registration are welcome as well!
